Describe a time you missed an important appointment for something
You should say:
When and where it happened
What the appointment was for
What happened when you missed it
And explain how you felt about the appointment.
One time I missed an important appointment was when I had an interview for becoming the leader of the debate club at school. It happened last semester, and I was really looking forward to it because I’d been active in the club for a while and wanted to take on a leadership role.
On the day of the interview, I left home a bit later than planned, and unfortunately, I got stuck in heavy traffic on the way to school. I thought I’d still make it on time, but the traffic was worse than expected, and by the time I arrived, the interview had already ended. I felt really disappointed and frustrated with myself because I had prepared ideas to share and was excited about the opportunity.
Afterward, I spoke with the teacher, apologized, and explained what happened. While I couldn’t reschedule, this experience taught me a valuable lesson about planning ahead. Now, if I have an important appointment, I make sure to leave extra time to get there, just in case of unexpected delays. It’s a lesson that has helped me be more organized and prepared.
