The provided charts illustrate the proportion of world forest and timber in five different continents.
It is noticeable that Africa is the region with the highest percentage of forest while the opposite is true for Asia. Also, the figure for timber in North America is higher than those for the other areas.
Regarding the distribution of forest, the figure for Africa was highest, at 27%, which is almost twice as high as that for Asia. Meanwhile, North America makes up a quarter of world forest, compared to 18% for Europe. 16% of world forest belongs to the continent of South America.
As for timber in each region, North America has the highest percentage of timber, at 30%, followed by South America, at 23%. The figure for Europe stands at 20%, which is higher than that for Asia by 2%. The lowest proportion of timber belongs to Africa, at only 9%.
